A man from Oberhouse in Germany has just done his chances of receiving a cheap van insurance quote no favours by falling out of the driver's door of his van as he was driving down a hill in Oberhouse town.
Fortunately for the man, he suffered no serious injuries so it seems the only lasting damage will be to his credibility and his van insurance policy.
In reports in the German press, he describes how, not wearing a seatbelt, his door swung suddenly open as he was taking a bend. The force of motion threw him from his van and left him floundering on the road as, horrified, he looked on to witness his vehicle plough into a wall at the base of the descent.
The three passengers in the van all suffered a lucky escape, as the collision with the wall only left them with very minor injuries.
Clearly red-faced and visibly worrying about his driving license and next van insurance quote, the man told gathered journalists, "I was in a rush and just didn't notice the door wasn't closed properly. It was bad luck."
