Mercedes Vito, Britain's dream van

An online survey by a commercial van insurance company has found that the Mercedes Vito is Britain's favourite commercial vehicle.

According to the commercial van insurance company, 37% of van drivers would treat themselves to a Vito if they felt they could easily afford it.

However, it was a close run thing, with 35% saying they would buy a Volkswagen Transporter. Third on the list was the ubiquitous Ford Transit, while the Toyota Hiace and Chevrolet 2010 Express received considerably fewer votes, coming in at fourth and fifth respectively.

A spokesperson from the commercial van insurance company commented, "Even if money is no object when choosing a van, drivers need to consider the cost of the van insurance. Aside from the initial outlay of purchasing the vehicle, some of these vans will incur high insurance premiums due to their level of risk and cost of repair."
