Band lose touring gear in van theft

Indie band Noah and the Whale will have to make a van insurance claim after discovering that their touring gear had been stolen from the back of their commercial vehicle following a gig in Manchester.

However, it seems no van insurance claim will be able to amply compensate the musicians for their "irreplaceable" gear.

Foremost among the band's losses is the theft of lead singer Charlie Fink's 1963 Fender Jaguar. "My entire sound is based on that guitar. Even if there was a duplicate it wouldn't ever sound the same," said Fink.

The London band will now have to inform their van insurance company about the theft that occurred outside Manchester's Club Academy on Tuesday night.
