Van insurance policyholders in Oxfordshire have been warned by police to lock up their vans and keep valuables out of sight, particularly overnight.
The warning to van insurance customers has been issued by police following a recent surge in the number of break-ins and thefts from commercial vehicles.
Police in the county have been at pains to remind van owners that removing all valuables from their vehicles will greatly reduce their chances of being targeted. Detective Sergeant Matt Jarman comments, "Most car criminals are opportunists and are unlikely to break into an empty vehicle."
Police urged any concerned van insurance customers to contact them.
