Many cheap van insurance customers may be confused by the terms of their commercial vehicle cover policies, according to research by swiftcover.com.
Although the research did not deal specifically with cheap van insurance, it did reveal that 42% of policyholders struggle to understand the terms of their motor insurance cover.
Amazingly, 18% said that they believe that their insurance providers deliberately write the details of their insurance terms in such a way as to deliberately cause confusion.
A spokesperson with the company commented, "Some drivers struggle with the terms used in their insurance, but it's vital that they read and understand their insurance policies so they know exactly what they are covered for.
"Car insurance is very complex, so this means that the wording used in policy terms and conditions can be fairly complicated," she added.
The survey revealed that nearly half of drivers would find using a cheap van insurance "jargon buster" useful when purchasing a policy.
There was confusion about the meaning of many terms, including "voluntary excess", "material fact" and "non-fault claim".
