Policyholders take rises on the chin

The importance of comparing quotes for business van insurance has been further underlined this week by the release of a Virgin Money study which reveals that Britons could save £1.5 million on their insurance if only everyone made a concerted effort to shop around.

In a message that is sure to prick up the ears of business van insurance policyholders across the country, a spokesperson said, "Searching for insurance renewal quotes can be a bit of a chore but a massive £1.5 billion each year could be saved."

Surprisingly, the study revealed that policyholders are willing to put up with a rise of 7.4 per cent in the cost of their vehicle cover before they are motivated to shop around for an alternative, cheaper quote.

But with the cost of business van insurance policies predicted to rise by around 25 per cent this year, it is anticipated that many policyholders will be comparing the market for the cheapest quote.
