An eight-year-old girl has been seriously injured in a van accident after the vehicle careered into her mother's car; the girl was a passenger at the time.
The child is said to be in a critical condition following the crash on the M8, near Easterhouse, on Sunday evening.
The 28-year-old mother had pulled over on to the hard-shoulder after concerns she had a punctured tyre when the white transit van reportedly lost control and hit her car.
The mother suffered minor injuries in the crash while the other passenger, a friend of the mother's daughter, escaped without injury.
Road crash investigators are still trying to determine who was at fault in the incident.
If the van driver is found to be guilty of a traffic offence, it is likely that he will struggle to find van insurance in the future following the van accident.
