Fuel price debate

The cost of motoring is surging and commercial vehicle owners all over the country are under more pressure than ever before to curb costs by finding really cheap van insurance.

However, given the sustained rise in fuel prices across the UK, a new report by the AA reveals that really cheap van insurance should not be British driver's only hope of saving money.

This is because figures show that, despite the cost of fuel reaching new peaks, since January 11, the price paid by wholesalers for their petrol has actually fallen by 2p a litre.

Inevitably, with the price of premiums rising, which makes it more difficult to find really cheap van insurance, and the VAT increase hitting the whole nation, some motoring groups have expressed anger that the savings have not been passed on to overworked consumer pockets.

A spokesperson for the AA comments, "The fact that we know European retailers passed [the price fall] on leads you to only one conclusion: That our retailers are keeping their prices high and enjoying the profits."
