A top motor insurance company has reported that out of all of Britain's drivers it is van drivers who take the most pride in their vehicle. A clean van could be a safer van and this might see van drivers getting cheaper van insurance quotes.
When cleaning the outside of their van 45% of van drivers undertake the job using a bucket, sponge, and their own hard work, and 27% choose to use a valet service – rather than going to an automatic car-wash.
In contrast, only 25% of car drivers will clean their motor in the same fashion.
The survey was conducted using 1,200 of the insurance firm's online customers, and it not only revealed that van drivers take more care over the outside appearance of their vehicle than other motorists, but they also clean their vehicle more often.
Apparently, 39% of all van drivers (two fifths) wash their van every week, whereas only 15% of car owners clean their vehicle as frequently as this.
A manager at the firm which conducted the survey explains, "A lot of van drivers are self employed so it is really good for business if adverts on their van are dirt free and are clearly seen".
Not only is a clean business van good for work but by keeping their vehicles clean drivers can ensure that they have the maximum visibility possible through all of their windows, and reduce the possibility of having an accident. This, in turn, should ensure they keep their no claims bonus intact and could lower the price of their van insurance quote when it is time for renewal.
