The white van man stereotype isn't pleasant and, statistics show, it's untrue. Consequently, white van insurance and the classic van man image is changing.
A survey of 1,000 drivers by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, has found that white van men are becoming healthier and more cultured than their previous stereotype.
According to the poll four in ten modern white van men, including those which have fast food van insurance, say that they would rather have a salad and fruit for lunch than a pasty and a packet of crisps.
Two thirds of modern van drivers, including some aged over 55-years-old, take regular exercise every week.
One in three take an interest in cultural pastimes such as going to the theatre, or opera, watching plays, visiting art exhibitions and seeing films.
Not surprisingly, the survey also found that 53% of the 1,000 white van men felt that the 1980-90s stereotype was outdated.
White van men are moving with the times. Like the rest of the UK they are avid users of social media sites and many will own HD TVs and laptops, on which they are likely to update their white van insurance by visiting an online insurer such as iVan.
