For most commercial van insurance policyholders, some of the most important things they will do every day is check that all their drivers turn up to work on time, have the correct equipment before they set off, and that they are all properly trained.
However, for the drivers, one of the most important things they will do – other than their job – is have a filling lunch so that they keep their energy levels up and can keep their concentration on the road when travelling from one place to another.
One leading provider of private and business van insurance recently conducted some research into which sandwiches were the nation's van drivers' favourites, ahead of the beginning of British Sandwich Week (12th to the 19th of May).
In a poll of 1000 of the firm's customers the BLT came out on top, with 30% of the votes. Ham and cheese also proved popular, with 25% of the votes. Coronation chicken, corned beef, tuna sweetcorn, and ploughman's lunch were next in line, presenting the company with UK van drivers' six top sandwiches.
The commercial vehicle manager for the firm stated, "British Sandwich week is a great opportunity for sandwich lovers to celebrate all that they love about their favourite UK classics. It's interesting to see that such traditional sandwiches have topped the charts with the majority of van drivers choosing the BLT as their favourite. We expect it to stay as the most loved sandwich for years to come."
Without a filling breakfast, lunch, and snacks throughout the day, drivers covered by commercial van insurance are at risk of losing concentration while behind the wheel and suffering a crash. Sandwiches may seem like an absurd thing to celebrate, but in fact their importance cannot be underestimated for workers all across the country.
