The Vanette, a short history

Although the Nissan Vanette is no longer in production, having been superseded by the NV200, there are still many vehicles on the market being used by a variety of business and tradespeople.

It was first produced by Nissan in 1978 and initially became known to many tradespeople as the Nissan Sunny-Vanette. Here in the UK, the Vanette also encompassed a model of adapted Serena.

Eventually the Vanette badge was absorbed into a Nissan version of the Mazda Bongo before finally being replaced by the NV200.
